The Music Inside You

Discover Deep Fulfilment, Meaningful Work and the Clarity To Do More of What Matters To You

Dear Friend,

Are You Living The Life You Want To Live?

We live in a world where most people sleepwalk through their life, stuck in draining jobs and burying their dreams because they aren't "realistic."

I wonder if you can relate.

Have you ticked the boxes for success with your job (salary, promotions, respect) but inside you feel numb, restless or miserable?

Do you ever catch yourself thinking: If I keep living like this, will I look back and wonder what the hell I did with my life?

Have you been waiting for the "right moment" to finally go for your dreams? But you worry that moment will never come?

Have you taken the leap and left your job or business, but the freedom feels more unsettling than you expected?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, you're not alone. I know this feeling because I've lived it. I climbed the corporate ladder until I finally hit breaking point.

For thirteen years, I was a model employee in my City of London banking job. I got promoted from graduate to associate, to associate director and then director. I was leading transactions worth £100m's and ended up becoming the "go to guy" between two of the bank's largest divisions.

My life looked great on paper:

  • Eating in London's top restaurants
  • Flying business class to New York, Buenos Aires, Tokyo and Singapore
  • Living in a trendy flat in the heart of the City of London

But beneath the surface, life felt hollow and lonely. My energy and enthusiasm were being sucked out of me. I told myself I'd be happier and life would be simpler when I finally "made it". But all I did was build a perfect corporate life I didn't actually want.

One afternoon, I broke down in tears on my girlfriend's sofa. I'd burnt myself out after months of headaches and exhaustion. My body was giving me an unmistakable sign that something had to change.

That was my turning point.

Around this time, I picked up a book by "The Father of Motivation" Wayne Dyer called 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace.

One passage in the book hit me so hard it made me sit bolt upright, heart pounding:

There's an intuitive, invisible presence that's always with you. This little fellow is your own death, urging you to get on with what you showed up here for because you only have so many days to get it done. Your invisible companion will prod you when you're spending another day doing what somebody else has dictated if it's not a part of your passion in life. But your left brain says "Wait a minute. Be careful, don't take risks, you might fail, you might disappoint all of those who have a different view of what you should be doing". Then your right-brain invisible companion speaks even louder. The volume gets turned up and up, trying to get you to follow your dream. Listening exclusively to your left brain will turn you into a pretender, or even worse, a commuter, getting up every morning going with the crowd, doing that job that brings in the money and pays the bills. Meanwhile, the music inside of you fades almost to a point of being inaudible - Wayne Dyer

It was as if Wayne was speaking directly to my soul.

I knew that if I didn't change something, I'd look back on a life that looked successful, but was ultimately empty.

So I quit my job. I stopped delaying my life and began living in the present instead of waiting for "someday."

And then something unexpected happened.

After two years away from work and coming back to life through deep rest, transformation and training as a coach with the American "supercoach" Michael Neill, I went back to the exact same job working for the exact same boss.

Except this time everything was different.

The days were flowing with ease instead of stress. I was sleeping better than ever. My Sunday evening dread had vanished and I was actually looking forward to going into the office.

Perhaps most importantly of all, my ambition, imagination and creativity came back.

Finally, I'd found the peace and freedom which came with writing my own script rather than living someone else's.

And now I help others do the same. This is the music inside me.

Nowadays I balance my day job with my writing and my coaching. I help stuck, restless people find clarity, calm and fulfilment by subtracting the noise so they can come alive again, go after their dreams and express the music inside them.

People like:

  • The escapee who has already made the break and stepped away from the usual path, but is now standing in the open field wondering which direction to head in
  • The dreamer with big plans (for that book, that new career, that creative project or those dreams to go travelling) which have been shoved in a drawer for years
  • The restless achiever who has an inkling that there's something more to life, but doesn't know what or how to find it

Your path to clarity and freedom begins now with my program, The Music Inside You.

Looking for your passion and calling? We'll uncover it.

Want to finally get your long-buried dreams out of your head and into the world? We'll make it happen.

And if you'd like to feel more alive in every aspect of your life, so that it overflows into your health, relationships and creative pursuits, that's on offer, too.

You set the direction because it's your music waiting to be unleashed.

What most people get wrong about passion and purpose

Most of what's written about passion and purpose is nonsense. Passion isn't hiding under a rock somewhere. Purpose isn't a magic box you finally stumble onto.

Neither are things you find.

They're things you grow.

Rosa Parks didn't wake up one morning and decide to be the face of a worldwide civil rights movement. Malala didn't "discover" her life purpose as a global activist, then roll up her sleeves to get to work. I certainly didn't discover writing or coaching and decide they were my purpose. I just kept following what felt true in the moment and what wouldn't leave me alone. Passion and purpose emerged from there.

So if you've been chasing your passion and purpose, stop.

It's not about finding the right purpose and passion "box" to put yourself in.

It's about coming alive to who you already are. The real work is removing the layers of conditioning, fear and other people's expectations that have buried your authentic self.

Purpose and passion are the natural result of giving yourself permission to dream, to be spontaneous, and to feel wonder again. This is what reawakens your capacity for genuine aliveness and joy.

Your music is already inside you. My job is to help you hear it again and start playing it too.

Introducing: The Music Inside You

This is a six month, one-to-one coaching experience designed to help you slow down, reflect, and rediscover a life of clarity, aliveness and authenticity. All so you can rediscover your music, rediscover yourself and come to the end of your life with no regrets.

Wayne Dyer didn't create a 10-step plan to help people find their music. He just described it so perfectly that you remembered it was there.

The Music Inside You works in a similar way.

Most programs try to add more actions, frameworks, concepts or systems.

But The Music Inside You takes things away.

After years of coaching, I've come to see how the method is always the problem. The relentless self-improvement is the noise drowning out the music that's playing all along. I call this The Subtraction Method. And it's the quietest, most counterintuitive thing I can offer you.

The more we subtract, the more you can hear your music.

Here's what you can expect from The Music Inside You:

  • Clarity about your next steps. Not just in your career, but in what truly matters to you, so decisions feel lighter, direction becomes obvious, and you can begin to do more of what matters most
  • Freedom from the constant mental noise and overthinking, replaced by a calmer, more easy-going relationship with your boss, your coworkers, your friends, your family and even work itself
  • A deeper trust in yourself and your own path, along with the confidence to stop waiting for permission and finally live life on your own terms instead of someone else's script
  • A renewed energy and joy that spills into every part of your life, from reconnecting with long-buried dreams and desires, to waking up with a sense of aliveness you thought you'd lost

Here's how The Music Inside You works:

We'll start with a 3 hour, one-to-one Zoom immersive to take stock of where you're at, where you want to go and what's been getting in the way.

Each fortnight, we'll meet for an hour on Zoom to reflect and uncover the music that's already inside you. As we go, you'll find yourself lighter, calmer and more in touch with that music.

The sessions combine personalised guidance, spacious conversations that spark insights and the space to integrate what you discover so the shifts you make feel natural and lasting.

Between sessions, you can message me on Whatsapp on Mondays to Fridays and I'll come back to you within 24 hours (and probably quite a bit sooner).

Your investment for The Music Inside You is $3,000.

In return, you'll receive one 3-hour immersive, thirteen 1-hour coaching sessions, unlimited WhatsApp support and the clarity, confidence and energy to stop living someone else's script and start living the music inside you instead.

As you might've gathered, this is a serious investment of time and money. If you have even an inkling of doubt about this program, I suggest you pass.

On the other hand, if this has prompted a few nervous and excited butterflies to start flapping around your stomach, let's have a chat.

What this isn't

This isn't another program promising a step-by-step blueprint to "find your purpose." We won't be using personality tests, value-setting exercises, affirmations or motivational fluff that leaves you inspired for a week, but unchanged in your everyday life.

You also don't have to quit your job, dump your partner or burn down your life.

Instead, this program will help you rediscover your own inner compass, listen to the quiet music you've been ignoring and follow what feels real and alive.

If you've been waiting for the "right time" to start living fully, this is it.

Listen to your invisible companion, express the music that you hear, and ignore what everyone else around you thinks you should be doing. As Thoreau put it, "If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away." Be willing to accept that others may even see you as having betrayed them, but you haven't betrayed your music, your purpose. Listen to your music, and do what you know you have to do to feel whole, to feel complete, and to feel as if you're fulfilling your destiny. You'll never be at peace if you don't get that music out and let it play. Let the world know why you're here, and do it with passion - Wayne Dyer

If you've read this far, chances are something in you is stirring.

A nudge, a whisper or maybe even a roar, reminding you there's more to life than ticking boxes and waiting for "someday."

That's your music.

The only question is whether you'll let it play.

I'd love to help you find the clarity, ease and confidence to step into a life that feels like your own.

Let's see what becomes possible when you stop waiting and start to do more of what matters to you most.

With Love,

Tom
